As a speech-only user, you need a way to figure out *while reading code* to what depth your code is indented. The editor won't help you there, because it is BRLTTY doing the screen reading. Sure, I could script my editor to read this information on a key press, but that ignores the job of a screen reader, presenting information in a different way to the user.
@Dave, yes, line numbers and wrapped lines are problematic, because they can't be distinguished from "normal" text. However, as a speech user, I have turned off line numbers most of the time. I find it too distracting to listen to numbers on each line. I think a documentation stanza that this feature won't work for line numbers should be enough.
