Hi,
the alternate install CD of Ubuntu comes with brltty. It starts, when
teh display is connected via USB, and the install procedure can be
performed.
If connected serially, you must start it by hand:
After a few seconds, press escape and enter twice. Then type
install brltty=xx,/dev/ttyXx,text.xx.tbl fb=false
where "x" must be completed by the proper values of driver, device and
braille table.
However: I was told that this not always works under Ubuntu (Edgy).
