yes, i updated the kernel from 2.6.32-3-686 to 2.6.32-5-686 on the
backup-system.
Brltty did not work... the same result...
it is anything inside the kernel.
Two files were updated linux-base and linux-image-2.6.32-5-686

None of the other packages should matter. Is it possible for you to test just
updating the kernel?
