I would suggest reading the relevant sections of a book on Linux system administration, for example the Debian Administrator's Handbook (http://www.debian-handbook.info/). If you're using Ubuntu or Fedora, the boot systems will be different (Upstart and Systemd, respectively), and the procedure for ensuring that BRLTTY is started during the boot sequence may be different.
