Waw! I don't think I've ever had anything remotely like that happen to me. That's pretty bad.
To me, though, this is another topic which I'd also like to discuss. I myself wouldn't mind a single, short tone played every half miute or so while the screen is frozen.

Yes, I agree. Back to the speech example. What it should say is "already muted" rather than "what kind of stupid action did you just request". I just put something there, but, as always, am wide open to improvements. Perhaps you can come up with a better tune.
I had a suggestion further down in my previous answer. What do you think about it?
