It seems that timeouts were not working anyway, at least according to the
script documentation. I believe this was due to a typing mismatch when
setting the corresponding libcurl parameter. It is fixed in the topic
branch. Since I don't have an ElasticSearch deployment, could you test
whether it works for you now with this topic branch?
