Matthew Domko created BIT-1480:
----------------------------------

             Summary: ERSPAN Supprt
                 Key: BIT-1480
                 URL: https://bro-tracker.atlassian.net/browse/BIT-1480
             Project: Bro Issue Tracker
          Issue Type: New Feature
          Components: Bro
    Affects Versions: 2.3
Environment: Using vCenter virtual switch, frames from monitored VMs
are encapsulated using GRE and forwarded to my sensor on a different broadcast
domain.
            Reporter: Matthew Domko
         Attachments: erspan

PCAP attached... Basically, bro recieves the erspan packet and doesn't
recognize that it is just GRE with a slightly different format. All the packets
get logged in bro with the ERSPAN source/dest addresses instead of the actual
source/dest addresses. It seems like everything else is working.

There was a discussion about this on a mailing list in the past, but no one
provided PCAP.

And someone else released a tool to do the decapsulation on the side:
