I manage to pour straight from my 18 liter pot, but maybe those last few
liters make a difference. Or maybe I am bigger and/or stronger...

If you use siphons of any sort, be awfully sure they are clean and
sanitized! I would hesitate to use my auto-siphon, I think there are too
many plastic parts that are hard to reach for a good cleaning. Then
again, I have had my share of infected beers, so I may be overly
careful.

One way is to take a small pot, tie a string to its handle, and immerse
it in the boiling wort for the last 5-10 minutes. That ought to kill
anything that lives on it. Let it stay in the pot while it cools down
(assuming you cool a whole potfull at a time). Carefully extract the pot
by pulling the string (which you have remembered to tie to the handle of
the big pot!), and use it to transport the wort into your fermenter. The
last part you can probably manage to pur directly.

To be honest, I have not tried this method, I just improvised it while I
was supposed to be working... But I have boiled a metal strainer in my
wort for separating the hops and hot/cold break, and that worked fine.
