When you pour the beer over, it will produce foam, and quite a lot of CO2 will escape into the air. You can compensate by adding new priming sugar, but you will not know how much is needed. It will work better the colder your beer is, then it will retain most of the CO2, and produce less foam. So, if you are doing a bottle or two, cool them to +1 or something like that. If you plan to move many beers over, pour them all in a bucket, and shake a bit to release the rest of the CO2. Then look up at haandbryg.dk, how much CO2 the beer will hold at that temperature, and prime accordingly. I would still be careful and prime 25% less that adviced. You probably want to avoid pouring the yeast slurry from the bottom of the bottles. But be sure to have at least some yeast in the new bottle, to ferment the priming sugar. If need be, add a grain of dry yeast. Finally, keep your things clean. It would be a pity to infect the beer at this stage. Good luck, and let us know how it worked out. -H -- Heikki Levanto heikki at indexdata dot dk "In Murphy We Turst"
