That depends - of course - on how big batch you plan to brew! I started with a 18-liter double-bucket system, and that was almost enough for my regular batches of about 18 liters (one keg). For really strong beers it was getting difficult, and a double batch was not likely to work. Now I have a simila system, but of 40 liters capacity, and that works fine for a double batch (36 liters, 2 kegs).
