I am brewing happily without any of those fancy newmodern electric
things. Just a big pot on my (electric) stove. It works all right, but I
must admit that my stove can just about deliver enough power to get my
20 liter pot to a boil. A bit more "oomph" in it would be nice. I
suspect a gas stove should be more powerful...
My advice would be to start with a large pot, if you already have such
one. If you have to go and buy, might as well go for an electric one.
Don't worry too much about the shape or color of your pot,
it will be beer anyway
