In a pinch, anything that breaks the kernels in two or three pieces, or
chops them into flour, or, well, destroys them somehow. I have seen
people using various sorts of blenders, coffee grinders, meat choppers,
empty bottles, large hammers, anything up to (and including) brute force
and ignorance. Just smash those bastards, one way or other.
It may take longer, and your efficiency may suffer, but
it will be beer anyway
