Well, even if they heated the grill with (relatively safe) gas, it can
still be that they burned enough sausages, grease, and other yucky stuff
on it, to produce some gaseous CO...

Working on it - but as it is only on its second day of primary
fermentation, I am not raking it over to a secondary yet. And it is too
late in the evening to start the next batch, especially since I plan to
reuse the yeast from this one... At least I'm sure that

   it will be beer anyway
