I don't know that much about chemistry, but my first thought is that beer wort is clearly more acidic than plain water, so it can leach out more metals. I have heard that the yeast actually needs some copper to do its work, so that should not be so bad. On the other hand, I have heard people saying that there is a real difference between brass and steel taps for serving the beer, so maybe the metals make a bigger difference at that point. When it comes to it, I think the metals in your piping are a fairly small detail. Nothing to worry about, until you can make pretty perfect beer anyway -H -- Heikki Levanto "In Murphy We Turst" heikki (at) lsd (dot) dk _______________________________________________ Brygforum mailing list Brygforum@lists.haandbryg.dk http://lists.haandbryg.dk/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/brygforum To get off the list, send a blank mail to brygforum-unsubscr...@lists.haandbryg.dk Frameld fra listen, send en tom mail til brygforum-unsubscr...@lists.haandbryg.dk
