I don't know that much about chemistry, but my first thought is that beer
wort is clearly more acidic than plain water, so it can leach out more
metals.  I have heard that the yeast actually needs some copper to do its
work, so that should not be so bad.  On the other hand, I have heard people 
saying that there is a real difference between brass and steel taps for
serving the beer, so maybe the metals make a bigger difference at that point.

When it comes to it, I think the metals in your piping are a fairly small
detail. Nothing to worry about, until you can make pretty perfect 

  beer anyway
