Presently our company http://hifx.net/services/security_solutions.htm is planning to start Training Network administrators in these technologies. And we have been thinking that some kind of Certification will help people who take our course. a name for it may be CBNSP ( Certified BSD Network Security Professional) an advanced Certification in this line will include other advanced topics related to it and may be called CBNSS ( Certified BSD Network Security Specialist) The Goal of CBNSP would be to ensure that the certified persons will be able to design and implement Secure Firewalls( integrated with essential proxy services as required), VPN Gateways, etc to secure computer networks. Designing and Implementing Secure Firewalls does not mean just learning the correct Syntax for PF and being able to write fool proof rule sets but will also take into consideration things like. 1) Designing the and Implementing the best firewall solution for a particular network using PF like creation of DMZ, a separate network for NIDS and analyzing packets on that particular network isolated from others sent to it by the "dup-to" Option in PF. Handling more than one Internet connection to the LANs and such. 2) Integration of the Firewall and Intrusion Detection Prevention System eg:http://www.thinknerd.org/~ssc/wiki/doku.php?id=snort2pf 3) Implementing detailed logging policies and implementing easy log analysis. 4) Designing and Implementing MAIL Filter Gateways using a mailserver, spamd, ClamAV 5) Integrating Squid Proxies with content filtering, Antivirus etc 6) Designing and Implementing secure wireless Gateways and more related. This was just a vuge explanation but hope you got the point :)))))))) Any ideas?? suggestions?? corrections??? criticisms??? Thankyou all Kind Regards Siju _______________________________________________ BSDcert mailing list [email protected] http://lists.nycbug.org/mailman/listinfo/bsdcert
