Hi Karolina, These are all great ideas! I have a few comments inline:
> Starting with the 4/2009 issue you will find a column devoted to BSD > Certification exams. If any of you have passed the exam and would like to > share your experiences with others we are waiting for your comments. Would you also like to hear from those who are studying for the exam or those who did not pass? Do you know who will be putting together the column? We would like to coordinate with that person to make sure the contents of the column fall within the NDA exam takers agree to before taking the exam. >those who register for the exam get a free pdf of OpenBSD/FreeBSD issue of >BSD mag What is the best way to coordinate this? For example, if you send me a download URL or a promotional code, I can include that in the email that is sent to confirm the exam registration. For how long a period would you like to offer this? e.g. what is the beginning and end date for registrations so we can advertise this offer? >the first 30 people who pass the exam in 2009 will receive either: > a one-year pdf subscription for free > or 20% off for the print edition Again, coordinate with me the details so we can ensure that these people are made aware of the offer and how they can access it. I would suggest an insert that is sent with their certificate which contains info about the mag and the promotional code to use. Is this something that could be designed on your end? If so, send me the design and I'll make sure it is sent to the first 30 exam passers for 2009. Would you also like to make a promotional offer for those who passed the exam in 2008? That offer should be something that can be emailed i.e. not an insert. Another suggestion: myself and several others on this list put together several trade show/conference booths each year. If you provide a brochure in PDF format, we can hand those out at BSD booths. Something that isn't too graphic or colour intensive is best as they cost significantly more to print. Cheers, Dru
