Miami, Fl-September 2007-. Natural Trend Setters(NTS) is a full service,
innovative holistic beauty center and hair salon that specializes in natural
hair care, transitional hair solutions and creative styling while providing
superlative service to unisex consumers in a healthy family oriented
environment. The guiding force behind NTS are made up of co-owners and
sisters Yanique and Simone Hylton who have successfully built a solid
reputation for being visible ambassadors of natural hair throughout the
South Florida area. The Hylton sisters are set to open their third location
and celebrate their 10th year anniversary on Sunday, September 39, 2007 from
5pm-9pm at their new location 4905 NW 7th Ave.
In the late 90's upon arriving in South Florida, the Hylton sisters who had
a passion for hair care, knew that there was something missing in the way
of hair care. They decided to open Natural Trend Setters, which catered to
the needs of men, women and children, the first of its' kind anywhere in and
around that area. "When we first got to Ft. Lauderdale, no one understood
what we were doing," says Simone, the creative talent behind NTS. "Coming
from New York, I was surprised to see that hardly any women of color were
into natural hair...especially with the weather being the way that it is...
It took a while for us to get clients away from what they were used to." It
is that perseverance that eventually led Yanique, the business half of this
duo, into turning NTS from a small upstart company to a budding franchise.
Natural Trend Setters is currently located in Ft. Lauderdale and Delray.
Their client roosters boast such clients that include: Cedella Marley,
Former NFL Player and Real Estate Guru Louis Oliver, former boxer Shannon
Briggs, Myra J( Tom Joyner Morning Show), Kelly Price, Yolanda Adams, Lauryn
Hill and the Ying Yang Twins. Simone Hylton has also the Master Stylist for
the past three years for the Pantene Totally You Tour. In addition Natural
Trendsetters also participates in the Tom Joyner Cruise every year.
Natural Trend Setters has partnered with Yellow Moon Day Spa which is
located in the burgeoning Liberty City business district on the NW 7th Ave
Corridor. Yellow Moon Day Spa is currently operated by Rick Spence who is
known as "The Foot Master". The Yellow Day Spa boasts the best pedicure in
town and offers a complete day spa experience. The two story complex
currently houses an internet café and artist lofts in addition to a
beautiful garden to allow for patrons to enjoy. "Since our inception in
1997, we have seen the amount of men and women, young and old who want to be
natural by choice increase on a daily basis. We are happy to be a part of
this development and can only thank God for the creative insight that he has
given to us. We look forward to this partnership with Yellow Moon Day." It
is evident that this avant-garde hair salon has what it takes to elevate
awareness and appreciation for the natural hair care arena.
