Thanks for reply back, but was thinking about it lately, just easier to avoid Gnome distros I guess.. I don't have money, I can't keep affording to buy things just to make operating systems work for tower... when usually operating systems handle comparability for even older computers like mine. lol.
There's still tons and tons of older computers being refurbished, and sold, or given away to less fortunate people. My Dell Vostro was a donated PC from local business, it refurbish many computers and gave them away to those that mainly needed them. Most operating systems should be back compatible for older chipsets etc. Guess I could just go with a KDE distro or regular Ubuntu and tweak it to be how I like... I can't keep going through headaches of trying to figure out and buy the right graphics cards etc. And still wouldn't have money to get keyboard and mouse. Thanks for your help though, but I guess I can't use Budgie-Remix after all.. unless I just use it and deal with some flickering at boot/login screen and page tearing, which I'm not sure how to do that "fix" you suggested anyway. I'm still a linux learner, even though I've tried various linux in past lol. Either regular Unity/KDE distro I guess, or go back to Windows 7 again and keep looking through all Windows 7 updates one by one to get rid of upgrade to 10 nagware /spyware bullshit, or just throw in towel and lose the fight and upgrade to Windows 10 (full spy operating system) and be done with it. Guess it's price to pay for being a jobless /unemployable person with no money.. gotta give up something, in my case privacy.. Of course running Windows 10 is no different than showering or bathing nude in middle of town square so... lol -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of ubuntu budgie bug busters, which is subscribed to budgie-remix. I ran sudo update and sudo dist-update and walked away for about an hour to do something, came back and tried logging in at login screen and it didn't let me through to desktop. I entered the password for the user account correct (as it didn't give me an incorrect password message), hit enter or login button and it acted as it was going to take me to desktop but didn't, kept me at login screen. I tried logging in a few times after that with correct password and it did the same thing each time. It acted as if I was going to be taken into desktop, but ended up right back at login screen. So I just decided to reboot/restart computer, got to drive encryption password screen, entered the password, that worked. Got to login screen again, entered password again and then it worked.
