Problem is that every time I try to access any of the system settings via the menu, a dialogue box pops up prompting me to login. Upon logging in with the password that I entered during installation, I am faced with the blank desktop (no windows open). Happens with all system settings (e.g. power, desktop, applets), but same problem does not occur when opening applications from the menu (such as firefox or libreoffice).
