Thanks. I installed that (replacing "trap - 0" with "trap '' 0" in install-sh) into Automake's main line. Perhaps it should be put into a maintenance branch of Automake? I didn't install the Autoconf part of the documentation, as it seems a bit wordy -- also, my connection savannah went down just now.....
