I cannot reproduce this issue with this exact shell, on i686-pc-linux-gnu. I fail to see what could be different. Can you send the md5sum of tests/testsuite.dir/074/script? It should be ff69de4b9fe8396c9e86f44d858c7ce5. Can you find out whether Slackware patches its bash somehow? Thanks, Ralf
