On rechecking the list, the "diagnose undefined AX_ macros" part of this bug
is a duplicate of #108879.
If you want to dig into the "*don't* spuriously diagnose AC_SUBST as undefined
when the actual problem is that an AX_ macro is undefined" part of the bug
any further -- understanding that the root cause there is likely to be
quoting-related and intractable -- then please file a new issue with that
complete, minimized test case.
