============== ONLY under POSIX... You may not believe this, but there are other standards than POSIX. More than one distro and company claims unicode compliance, to V6.x. Any programs or collections that do claim compat, need to adhere to the stricter of the standards, which is Unicode, in this case. POSIX only applies if you are going for the bottom of the barrel in this case.
