First, the fix alluded to there changed how the function 'quot' quotes file names. The problematic use case is with the --preprocessor= option, but that option doesn't use 'quote' in the sources I have. Moreover, the documentation says that --preprocessor= accepts the PROGRAM, which means no command-line arguments; the arguments are supposed to come via the companion option --preprocessor-arg=. So how exactly could the 'quot' change break some use case that worked before, and how could that use case work in the original windres before the change?
