Hey all, I'm trying to build CVS/HEAD of bison on cygwin/xp and get a gzip error while running the bootstrap script. The output is below. I have tried running it with and without the "--skip-po" option. Is there any way to manually retry what the script is doing?
Also, generally, would it be a big deal to just import a known working version of gnulib and all of the localizations in to bison's cvs? I bet you don't need the latest bleeding-edge version, and there may be some merit in using a "known version". But, then again, you could do it with a cvs label :) Thanks, Oleg. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- bootstrap --skip-po ................... ./bootstrap: Copying file gnulib/m4/unlocked-io.m4 ./bootstrap: Copying file gnulib/m4/wchar_t.m4 ./bootstrap: Copying file gnulib/m4/wint_t.m4 ./bootstrap: Copying file gnulib/m4/xalloc.m4 ./bootstrap: Copying file gnulib/m4/xsize.m4 ./bootstrap: Copying file gnulib/m4/xstrndup.m4 ./bootstrap: patching m4/gettext.m4 so that AM_INTL_SUBDIR is empty ... ./bootstrap: autoreconf --verbose --install --force ... autoreconf-2.5x: Entering directory `.' autoreconf-2.5x: running: autopoint --force tar: Skipping to next header tar: Archive contains obsolescent base-64 headers gzip: stdin: invalid compressed data--crc error gzip: stdin: invalid compressed data--length error tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors Copying file ABOUT-NLS autoreconf-2.5x: running: aclocal --force -I m4 autoreconf-2.5x: configure.ac: tracing autoreconf-2.5x: configure.ac: not using Libtool autoreconf-2.5x: running: /usr/bin/autoconf-2.5x --force autoreconf-2.5x: running: /usr/bin/autoheader-2.5x --force autoreconf-2.5x: running: automake --add-missing --copy --force-missing configure.ac: installing `build-aux/install-sh' configure.ac: installing `build-aux/missing' configure.ac:109: installing `build-aux/config.guess' configure.ac:109: installing `build-aux/config.sub' Makefile.am: installing `./INSTALL' doc/Makefile.am:20: installing `build-aux/mdate-sh' doc/Makefile.am:20: installing `build-aux/texinfo.tex' examples/calc++/Makefile.am: installing `build-aux/depcomp' configure.ac: installing `build-aux/ylwrap' autoreconf-2.5x: Leaving directory `.' ./bootstrap: rm -fr aclocal.m4 intl m4/codeset.m4 m4/gettext.m4 m4/glibc2.m4 m4/ glibc21.m4 m4/intdiv0.m4 m4/intmax.m4 m4/inttypes_h.m4 m4/inttypes.m4 m4/inttype s-pri.m4 m4/isc-posix.m4 m4/lcmessage.m4 m4/lib-ld.m4 m4/lib-prefix.m4 m4/longdo uble.m4 m4/longlong.m4 m4/po.m4 m4/printf-posix.m4 m4/signed.m4 m4/size_max.m4 m 4/stdint_h.m4 m4/uintmax_t.m4 m4/ulonglong.m4 m4/wchar_t.m4 m4/wint_t.m4 m4/xsiz e.m4 ... ./bootstrap: sed '/^MSGID_BUGS_ADDRESS *=/s/=.*/= [email protected]/' po/Makevars.template >po/Makevars ... sed: can't read po/Makevars.template: No such file or directory cp: cannot stat `Makefile.in.in': No such file or directory cp: cannot stat `*-quot': No such file or directory cp: cannot stat `*.header': No such file or directory cp: cannot stat `*.sed': No such file or directory cp: cannot stat `*.sin': No such file or directory ./bootstrap: done.
