The ISO standards have been adopted by ANSI as well, cf. [1], though it does not say about C11. One reason to not use the older C versions is that they have been withdrawn, but it does not matter of course, if it also compiles with them. 1. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ANSI_C
