It works. Sorry about the delay: Had to install cygwin. Had issues. Had to remember 'nix and how to build the bison source. Ouch. Yes I know I could have sent you my .y file but this way I learned something about what I should have learned ages ago. I looked for the YY_ASSERTs in the generated header - no more long lines - great!

It would be most useful to try *with assertions enabled*. Either paste "%define parse.assert" in your grammar file, or pass the option -Dparse.assert on the command line.
