Different meaning entirely, in the case of upgrades and stuff.
And for FreeBSD pending_pkgs is irrelevent because we don't queue anything. There is absolutely no performance advantage on FreeBSD, and it makes it impossible to know which package failed. The queueing is just for RPM and other "smarter" package managers.
