It looks like your PATH is picking up a different version of a file named link.exe (a POSIX-compliant link from coreutils - do you have something like cygwin or mingw installed?) than what your nmake file was expecting (a helper application with a poorly chosen name related to Microsoft's compiler, but when has POSIX naming conventions ever stopped Microsoft from making bad decisions).
