Using coreutils-4.5.3-26, stat foo
(where file foo does not exist) exits 0. Quote: [EMAIL PROTECTED] sjohnson]$ stat foo stat: cannot stat `foo': No such file or directory [EMAIL PROTECTED] sjohnson]$ echo $? 0 I would expect it to exit 1.
