I can agree with that philosophy. However, that didn't happen with cat --binary - it was just silently removed between 5.3.0 and 5.90 with no deprecation period (although NEWS does document this, and the option wasn't really very useful to begin with). > > Feedback welcome. > One more - what about who -i vs. who -u?
