I'm very grateful for your kindly help! After having read your very detail message with pointing of possible place of "bug hiding" I can fix it. It's not coreutils of course. I'm sorry for disturbing you. PS. I'm going to add some clearance for everybody... Yes, "apple" and "bhost" are different hosts. It's an LFS (linux from scratch) system. So bhost is the system where I build "apple" system (in chroot environment). glibc is identical, compiler (binutils + gcc + other ) is identical and build scripts for system are identical too. The differences is only in coreutils package version. Therefore I thought that it's a coreutils related problem. But after I had made sure in coreutils "guiltlessness" I found the reason. It was ./configure option --without-included-regex. This option have been in the script for quite a long time and I forgot about it... Especially as 5.2.1 seems to work correctly with such option. Thank you very much for checking my reclamation, for a detailed description of a possible place of the problem, for spending your time for me and for your work on the whole! -- Best regards, Serge mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] _______________________________________________ Bug-coreutils mailing list [email protected] http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-coreutils
