Hi! I have noticed that in the 'ls' program, there is no option to show the size of the _contents_ of a directory. Would it not make more sense if the program showed the size of a directory as - "it's size plus the size of files and subdirectories", where the size of the subdirectories would also be calculated in the same way.
If you don't want to modify the existing options, it is atleast possible to add another. And if this has been discussed before, and not implemented for some reason, what is that reason? I know the UNIX philosophy of 'chaining together' several tools to produce results, so is this why?
