Hi!
I have noticed that in the 'ls' program, there is no option to show
the size of the _contents_ of a directory. Would it not make more
sense if the program showed the size of a directory as - "it's size
plus the size of files and subdirectories", where the size of the
subdirectories would also be calculated in the same way.

If you don't want to modify the existing options, it is atleast
possible to add another.

And if this has been discussed before, and not implemented for some
reason, what is that reason? I know the UNIX philosophy of 'chaining
together' several tools to produce results, so is this why?
