Do you have an alternative to suggest?  I've just googled through a whole
series of names--generalutils, genutils, gputils (for "general purpose"),
and several more, and there don't seem to be all that many short strings of
characters followed by "utils" that *haven't* been used as a project name
by someone.

What about coreutils-extra? (Would that be acceptable to the coreutils folks?)
