Agreed.  We usually use the 'df' command as a test to debug if the NFS
client has a problem.  If it hangs then I know there is an NFS
problem.

Also check the syslog.  This is located in various places on different
systems.  See if there are kernel nfs mount messages there.

  /var/log/syslog
  /var/log/messages
  /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log
  etc.

This is a common NFS problem.
