It seems your message was lost and not answered to in many many years. Sorry about that. Both coreutils 8,.5 and Mac OS X 10.6.4 are very old, and we've had successful compilation reports with newer versions of both. As such, I'm closing this bug (despite not being resolved). If you still experience issues with building coreutils on mac, please do reply to this thread. -assaf
