Well I tried it with no -COLUMN option, and no warning or error was
issued.
So do document what is going on.
By the way
$ info pr|grep COL|od -c
shows lots of
342 200 230 - C O L U M
but these all need two dashes, not one,
else
$ pr -COLUMN
pr: invalid option -- 'C'
Wait, be sure every time you mention -COLUMN you also say
"(e.g., -11)"
else nobody will know what you are talking about.
