problem in cvs

sir

i am facing a problem with cvs .i am able to checkin checkout using telnet to the machine (cvs server ). but when i login using this command

it asks for password and then after i enter my password

it says /home/cvs/demo no repository

also when i use

it asks for the password and then after i enter my password it says

cvs login:failed to open /root /.cvspass for reading:No such file or directory

cvs [login aborted ]: fatal error :exiting

sir the user has its directory in

/home/users/< user name >

and the project user creates has its repository as

/home/cvs/< project name >

i will be very grate ful if you can tell, at which step i m wrong or what should i do to login.

please reply as soon as possible
