Sorry. The error message is
cvs [commit aborted]: cannot read /usr/people/alext/src/master/MyProject/d,v: 
Input/output error

Looking at it more closely, I notice that it is not 100% reproducable. Looks 
more like an NFS problem than a problem of CVS... :-(
