I had the following error occur when checking out via the pserver method. Protocol error: uncounted data discarded
This was when I did a checkout on a tag that did not exist: # cvs co -r bad_tag_name_that_does_not_exist my_component Protocol error: uncounted data discarded I discovered the reason for this was because I have an CVSROOT/rcsinfo file with a template specified. If I comment out the CVSROOT/rcsinfo file entry then I get the correct error of: # cvs co -r bad_tag_name_that_does_not_exist my_component cvs [server aborted]: no such tag bad_tag_name_that_does_not_exist my_component Anyone know why this happens?
