Details:

# cvs commit '-mCommitting some Andy leftover stuff.'
cvs commit: Examining .
cvs: hash.c:353: findnode: Assertion `key != ((void *)0)' failed.
cvs [commit aborted]: received abort signal

I can reproduce this both with 1.11.22 (current stable release) and 1.12.13
(latest feature release).

The FAQ mentions that this assertion failure can happen on Windows, but I am
using Linux. It says the failure is caused by a filename in the repository
which differs only in capitalization from one in the working copy. But that
is not the case here.

Whatever the cause of the assertion failure, it needs to be fixed. A web
search will show that others have hit the same bug (but I didn't see an entry
in Savannah).
