You forgot the most important detail: to tell us what version of
ddrescue you are running.
In any case, the fact that ddrescue is trying to "copy an undefined
number of Bytes" means that it was unable to find out the size of
/dev/disk1s6. Is it some type of raw device or something?
Did you try different starting positions?
Really does not write the logfile when you hit Ctrl-C?
