I have a broken 500GB disk rescued to a brand new disk with ddrescue. In the first run I saved as much as possible with --no-split. The second I tried to squeeze out as much as possible with --direct --max-retries=3
In this second run I get some remarkable shell output. The previous last result table looks like this rescued 500107 MB ipos 772441 kB opos 772441 kB errsize 562 kB errors 124 and the latest table: rescued 500107 MB ipos 278263 MBkB opos 278263 MB errsize 0 B errors 0 I don't understand why the error count has disappeared suddenly in the last table, while the value for 'rescued' stayed the same all the time. Also the ipos and opos values rocketed into air. What do these values mean, and is this suspicious? Also I would like to hear if I should clone my new disk to an even newer one in case efsck will destroy my recovery result. Or is this unlikely when ddrescue reports zero errors? -- View this message in context: http://old.nabble.com/ddrescue-results%3A-are-these-ok--tp27209710p27209710.html Sent from the Gnu - ddrescue mailing list archive at Nabble.com. _______________________________________________ Bug-ddrescue mailing list [email protected] http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-ddrescue
