Hi,
I ran the ddrescue without generating log file option, and stopped it
using control C when the program had stopped updating. I then ran
ddrescue again with generating log file option; I got this "Aborted
(core dumped)" error message. I can't start ddrescue again anymore.
I ran cygwin on Windows XP to execute the ddrescue command on an
external USB hard drive.
This is not a ddrescue bug. It is an unfortunate backward
incompatibility of new /bin/cygstdc++-6.dll 4.5.3-3 with some programs
build with previous 4.3.4-4.
Possible workarounds:
- use Cygwin setup.exe to downgrade package libstdc++6 to previous
4.3.4-4, or
- put both ddrescue.exe and old cygstdc++-6.dll 4.3.4-4 to a separate
directory (e.g. /usr/local/bin), or
- rebuild ddrescue from source, or
- wait for next ddrescue package. I will upload it after 1.15 final is
released.
Thanks,
Christian
