Hello,

More suggestions;

Elapsed time
1) Time taken so far
displayed during a scan pass
i) elapsed time for current pass
ii) times for each previous pass
iii) total time for all passes so far

2) Total time taken to complete all scans,
to collect all the data.

3) Data lifted verses time taken for each progressive scan.
This helps the user get an idea of the rate of diminishing
returns for time spent, and the risk of total loss of the
original source.

4) ability to send a copy of reports back to a central
database or website (e.g. at ddrescue's site).
This helps gather information on the program's performance
on various media and manufacturer's models, in various
states of condition. So it can help statistically predict
the likely outcomes of courses of action, and recommend the
most appropriate method of approach in most situations,
given the user's objective. The user's objective might be -
robust removal, rapid removal of most data, maximum amount
of data removed, remove from critical locations first, etc.

I hope some of this is helpful.
Yours
Al
