Hi, I'm using $ diff --version diff (GNU diffutils) 3.2
as provided by Gentoo Linux. Is it desired that the string "\ No newline at end of file" is written to stdout instead of stderr? I would expect that such warnings go to stderr by default and stdout contains only what I've specified on the command line. I must admit that I don't understand why I get this warning at all. If a particular program can't process files which don't end with "\n", then the program is completely broken and should be fixed.
