Hi, After I use a terminal for some time, entering 'ed' and typing a few special characters gives me unexpected display. For instance, if I type something and then backspace, I get this:
error^J^J Seems mostly a display problem, as the result is usually what I want. My solution to this is to open a terminal just for using 'ed'. This way, I never get this problem. However, I wasn't able to figure out exactly what can cause it. Usually, I use a combination of standard unix tools (sed, cat etc.), less (as pager) and compilers (gcc, ghc). Most of the time I use tools like 'ed' with 'rlwrap', but not always, and that doesn't change the problem. I use bash and mlterm on latest ubuntu. 'ed' is version 1.4 (installed on /usr/local, as ubuntu still has 'ed' 0.7).
