GNU ed is an 8-bit clean, more or less POSIX-compliant implementation of
the standard Unix line editor.

This version is also available in lzip format. If your distro doesn't
yet distribute the lzip program, you can download it from
http://www.nongnu.org/lzip/lzip.html
Changes in this version:
* The new option `--restricted' has been added.
* "red" has been converted to a script invoking `ed --restricted'.
* Description of ed in the manual has been changed.
* Minor changes to the code have been made to allow compilation with
some c89 compilers.
