This has been supported by ed for nearly 50 years. Adding a new flag

Having said that, if Antonio chooses to add an explicit flag, please
let it be something other than '-e', which is already used by sed to
introduce a script on the command line.
AFAIK, GNU ed behaves as expected, so I do not plan to add any explicit flag
to change its current exit-on-error behavior.
I have reserved '-e' to introduce a script as you suggest, in case I
eventually implement the script feature.
Best regards,
Antonio.
