Paul, Thanks for your reply. I had tried to see if the bug was fixed in the latest version. I downloaded the 4.1 source, I could not find any mention of the problem in the ChangeLog file, and I could see that the patch by Jan Kasprzak for 4.0x had not been applied to closeout.c. I did not notice the call to __fpending(), and since I did not know where to find the 4.0x source I was not aware that the call had been added as an alternative fix for the bug.
Thanks again, Jon Hitchcock Paul Eggert <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote on 25/10/01 at 00:24: > > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Jon Hitchcock) > > Date: 23 Oct 2001 07:15:18 -0700 > > > > I discovered a problem in the mkdir utility in Red Hat 7.0, and sent a > > message (see copy below) to [EMAIL PROTECTED] (as suggested by the > > --help option). > > That's the right place to send it. > > > I received no reply or acknowledgement, so I do not know if anyone > > received it. > > The bug that you refer to has been fixed in the latest official > fileutils version (version 4.1, dated May 2001).
